The conversion process
PET is a polymere that is greatly versatile in the conversion process thanks to the range of processes that can be applied to PET granules (it can be adapted to almost any packaging specifications).
Typical PET conversion processes are generally called primary processes. They allow the conversion of pellets into finished products via a thermal process during which granules reach a liquid state that will then be solidified at a later stage.
In some cases, semi-finished PET items can be produced using primary processes (plates, sheets and bars), which are then transformed into finished products thanks to conventional mechanised or thermoforming methods.
